Description

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) intends to award a Sole Source Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract for comprehsive medical services to Comprehensive Health Services, Inc., 8229 Boone Blvd., Suite 700, Vienna, Virginia 22182-2634. This determined has been made due to the sensitive nature of medical records and because medical records have a unique privacy requirement that will not allow the transfer of files from one contractor to another. The net result would be that all law enforcement officers would be required to submit to new base-line physical screenings which would be cost prohibitive. The contractor shall provide a Comprehensive Occupational Medical Examination Program for permanent and temporary employees, both applicant and incumbents, meeting the requirements found in the Fish and Wildlife Didvision of Refuge Law Enforcement Medidcal Standards program. The scope of work under this contract for the base and option years includes the contiguous United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, Guam and Puerto Rico. Contractor services will include Baseline (initial), Periodic, Annual, and Exit examinations. The contractor will provide the necessary facilities, staff, materials and equipment to administer an all inclusive medical examinations/screenings program. The physical examiniations provide medical determination of the fitness of applicants or incumbents to perform the essential function in the work conditions of an arduous duty law enforcement officer and disclose any disabilities that may prevent the effective performance of official dutes.
