Description
Refurbished Finnigan LCQ DECA XP+ Liquid Chromatograph/Ion Trap Mass Spectrometer (LC/MS) Solicitation No. 2006-4431-006. The USDA, ARS, Mid South Area, Forage Animal Production Research, Lexington, Kentucky intends to procure a Refurbished Finnigan LCQ DECA XP+ Liquid Chromatograph/Ion Trap Mass Spectrometer. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number 2006-4431-006 is being issued as an Invitation for Bid. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-12. Offerors are to provide a bid for the following: Equipment Specifications: The acquisition of this instrument will give us the opportunity to explore the changes in protein expression profiles for a group of forage animals that have been exposed to a variety of different feeding treatments (e.g. exposure to ergot alkaloids) or disease states (laminitis versus healthy) With nanospray ionization capabilities, sample size and solvent use for sample preparation and analysis is minimized. Additionally, metabolites of various plant components in a forage based diet like ergot alkaloids may be identified. Required Features: Autosampler LC/MS pumps Degasser Nanospray ionization / Electrospray ionization Ion Trap mass spectrometer (m/z 50-2000) LC/MS Data dependent scanning Automatic Gain control (AGC) makes sure Ion Trap is filled with optimum # of ions Dynamic Exclusion Normalized Collision Energy (collision energy normalized based on mass of ion) Resolution of 0.05 full width half maximum MSⁿ for n=1-10. Individual Equipment Line Items: Refurbished Finnigan LCQ DECA XP+, Agilent 1100 HPLC system (w/autosampler, pump Degasser, column compartment and installation), Agilent 1100 UV-Vis Detector w/installation), Finnigan Nanospray Module for DECA XP+,and One Year Warranty on all parts and labor. All systems and components shall be provided with a one (1) year warranty from the time of owner?s acceptance. The warranty shall cover all parts, labor and material. Delivery of the unit by the instrument vendor must be within 30 days of award of contract. ALL RESPONSIBLE SOURCES MAY SUBMIT A BID FOR CONSIDERATION. Bid prices shall include all necessary labor, parts, materials, and transportation necessary to delivered FOB Destination a Refurbished Finnigan LCQ DECA XP+ to USDA-ARS, Forage Animal Production Research, Attention Dr. Lori Smith, 500 S. Limestone, N-220 Ag Sciences Bldg. North, Lexington, Kentucky 40546. This contract incorporates one or more clauses by reference, with the same force and effect as if they were given in full text.
