Description
The Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for 3 Axis Ametek Aerospace Accelerometers, P/N 3001-01-111-2, quantity 20 each, from Ametek Aerospace Inc., 50 Fordham Road, Wilmington, MA, and is proprietary to that firm. This equipment is part of a modification program to install a Mini Flight Data Acquisition Unit (MFDAU) and 25 hour Digital Flight Data Recorder (DFDR) in the FAA Beech 300 fleet. This system will replace the current flight data recorders presently installed in the Beech aircraft. Standardization on this product is necessary to provide standardization on the flight inspection aircraft fleet thereby eliminating the requirement for additional parts support, test equipment, operational training, and maintenance training. It is vital to maintain the integrity of the fleet in order to adequately support the FAA's mission. This equipment is the only equipment configuration that may be proposed as the equipment is for Standardization of equipment on FAA Aircraft, there shall be no substitution. This equipment is required to insure standardization of systems and compatibility with other aircraft components and is to be installed on the flight inspection fleet aircraft. The equipment configuration cannot be changed. The requirement is being processed using limitation of sources to a single source as provided for under the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) Sections 3.2.2.2 and 3.2.2.4. The FAA may contract with a single source when it is determined to be in the best interest of the FAA. Any questions must be in writing to Brenda.Elliott@faa.gov; or Brenda Elliott, Contracting Officer, FAA, Aviation, Medical & Training Division, AMQ-310, P.O. Box 25082, MPB Room 369, Oklahoma City, OK 73125; or Brenda Elliott, Contracting Officer, FAA, Aviation, Medical & Training Division, AMQ-310, 6500 S.
