- 436th Contracting Squadron, Dover AFB DE intends to award a sole source, Firm-Fixed Price contract, under Federal Acquisition Procedures, to the Lean Academy Institute (LAI) at the university of Alabama Huntsville, 301 Sparkman Drive, Bldg. VBRH, Room A3C, Huntsville, Al 35899.This acqusition is sole source because the lai at the University of Alabama is the only education center that offers this type of LEAN aerospace training. This acquisition is unrestricted. The NAICS code is 611519. The following LEAN training will be procurred: Contractor is to provide classroom instruction at the tradmarked LAI Lean Academy. Instruction will include intensive, hans-on education where learners are introduced to lean fundamentals in conjunction with an opportunity for "real world" application. The LAI Lean Academy combines research and theory into a learner-centered experience. Through hands-on simulations, case studies, lectures, tours & team presentations, participants are active and engaged. Learners have the opportunity to discuss and apply real world examples of the lean enterprise in the aerospace environment. Fourteen students will receive the traning. Contractors interested in this requirement should submit a complete quote, which provides clear and convincing evidence that they can meet the Government's requirement. In addition, the responce should include any special requirements for a commercial contract (i.e. Commercial Financing, Warranty Provisions, Delivery Information, etc.) in accordance with FAR Part 12. Anticipated award date is May 31, 2006. Responces must be received no later than 4:00 PM, Eastern Standard Time, May 31, 2006.
