- Notice of Contract Action for a Sole Source Procurement SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT FOR PITNEY BOWES. INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCREMENT WITH PITNEY BOWES. The Air Force Academy, CO intends to award a Sole Source purchase order to Pitney Bowes Inc., 7630 Little River TPKE , Suite 800M, Annandale, VA 22003. The Sole Source purchase will be for the following commercial items: Line Item 1. DM1000 System Line Item 2. 70lb Interfaced Weighing Line Item 3. Scale Stand Line Item 4. Confirmation Services Training Line Item 5. 1E05 Laser Printer Line Item 6. Power Stacker for DM1000 Line Item 7. Console for DM1000 Line Item 8. Annual Maintenance Agreement for DM1000 Line Item 9. DI950 Inserting System: 4 Feeder Tower Line Item 10. Sheet/Flat Envelope Tray Line Item 11. Insert Tray Line Item 12. Height Adjustable Table, 60? with locking doors, Sliding Shelf Line Item 13. DI950 Install & Operator Training Line Item 14. Annual Maintenance Agreement for DI950 Folder/Inserter System FOB Destination. Delivery Schedule is 30 day. The goal is to implement and apply commonality, standardization, and inter operability amongst all organizations at the USAF Academy. To accomplish these goals through providing a standard postal metering system. The current Pitney Bowes equipment must be upgraded IAW Department of Defense Military Postal Service Agency letter dated 7 February 2005. The current system is not functional and the costs of repairs can not be justified. Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the items above. A determination by the Air Force not to open the requirement to open competition, based on response to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Air Force. If the office has not received any affirmative written responses by COB 2 June 2006, a Sole Source purchase order will be pursued with Pitney Bowes Inc.
