Description
EMERGENCY PROCUREMENT  THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY FOR PURPOSES OF CONDUCTING MARKET RESEARCH. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL, QUOTATION, OR BID. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, in an effort to facilitate the USACE mission of restoring flood protection at the two outfall canals in New Orleans, LA, intends to issue a solicitation as Request for Proposal to supply temporary pumps for two control structures. The purchase of the temporary pumps shall be accom plished via a supply contract. For the flood protection at each outfall canal, temporary pumps will be supplied to a construction contractor for installation. All pumps and drive units must be delivered within three months of award. The total number of pumps to be supplied is approximately 20. Each pump shall be capable of producing a minimum capacity of 200 cfs to 350 cfs. All pumps must be able to pump across a flood control structure against a differential head of 14 feet. The priming head of the p ump is 22 feet. Pumps will discharge into 9-foot manifolds to achieve approximately 900 cfs per manifold. At one outfall canal, 4 9-foot manifolds are anticipated. Additional information will be provided in the solicitation which is due to be issued on or about June 12, 2006. No telephone or fax requests for copies of this solicitation will be honored.
