Description

The Department of Homeland Security, Office of Procurement Operations, intends to issue a purchase order for professional scientific education services for nuclear detection and measurement on a sole source basis. The purchase order will be issued to Knoll and Associates, Inc. 3891 Waldenwood, Ann Arbor, MI. The requirement will be a Firm Fixed Price contract The contractor will provide a week long training course on nuclear detection and measurement for scientists and engineers working in the nuclear detection and measurement field in support of the Department of Homeland Security. This requirement will be solicited on a sole source basis from the author of the seminal textbook ?Nuclear Detection and Measurement?, Glenn F. Knoll, Knolls and Associates The course will be held at secure facilities at the Department of Homeland Security in Washington, DC in the summer of 2006. The period of performance of this effort will be five days in duration.. The proposed contract action is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested sources may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement in accordance with Numbered Note 22. Numbered Note 22 applies except all responses to this sole source announcement must be received within 15 days (in lieu of 45 days) from the date of this announcement. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses must be received no later than June 16, 2006, 4 p.m. EST.
