Description
The U.S. Coast Guard has decided not to set aside the acquisition for dockside repairs of the USCGC HOLLYHOCK (WLB-214) for HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) or Small Business concerns, because only one HUBZone and one Small Business concern complied with the requirements of the sources sought notice. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about 8 June 2006 at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. THIS REQUIREMENT IS A UNRESTRICTED PROCUREMENT FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS AND WILL BE EVALUATED USING PAST PERFORMANCE AS AN EVALUATION FACTOR. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform dockside repairs to the USCGC HOLLYHOCK (WLB-214) including but not limited to the following Base and Option items: (1) Preserve Weather Decks, (2) Replace Hatches, (3) Replace Shower Pan with Deck Covering System, (4) Overhaul Cross Deck Winches, (5) Modify Forecastle Fuel Vent Cofferdams, (6) Modify Hatch Cam Lock Clearance, (7) Perform Mechanical Chain Stopper Level 1 and Level 2Maintenance, (8) Preserve Designated Surfaces, (9) Inspect and Weight Test Loose Rigging Gear, (10) Composite Labor, and (11) Travel and Per Diem. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. The USCGC HOLLYHOCK is a 225 Foot Seagoing Buoy Tender homeported in Port Huron, MI. All work will be performed at the vessels homepier in Port Huron. The performance period is FIFTY-SEVEN (57) calendar days beginning on or about August 28, 2006. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 500, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advance notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings.
