Description

The intent of this contract is to secure services to mechanically thin conifers and brush cutting according to contract specifications. Thinning shall consist of selecting crop trees and mechanically cutting all other trees and brush except for areas designated by the C.O.R. The C.O.R. will designate areas where the brush may be left, if any, but thinning shall still be done. Thinning and brush cutting shall be done in a manner that does not damage leave trees not specified to be treated. The project is located on the Tahoe National Forest, American River and Yuba River Ranger Districts. Location 1: drive east from Auburn on Interstate 80 to the Emigrant Gap exit. Turn right off the exit and then turn right again on to the 19 Road (Texas Hill road). Go approximately 5 miles and turn left onto the 19-22 road. Follow maps into units. Location 2: 20-8 and 55-31 are accessible via the Henness Pass Road, 60-2 via Pliocene Ridge Road, 475-37 and 475-38 via Highway 20 and 20-16 road, 5-29 via Marysville Road and Toll Road, 5-1002, 5-1004 and 5-1005 via Marysville Road and Moonshine Road. Follow maps into units. Solicitation will be available approximately June 19, 2006. Bid open date will be approximately July 17, 2006. Start work date is approximately July 24, 2006 with a contract time of approximately 262 days.
