Description
The FAA is conducting this market survey to identify potential small businesses capable of developing a 5-year Government/Industry Initiatives Roadmap for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). The predominant North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 541611. The small business size standard is $6.5m. The work would include providing technical, engineering, and administrative support to the FAA in their effort to lead a collaborative initiative to establish a 5-year government/industry UAS roadmap. The Contractor would assist in the assessment of related UAS activities within the FAA, Government Agencies, and industry. Additionally, the Contractor would assist the FAA in the development of a comprehensive NAS Integration Plan for UASs. Interested vendors shall respond to this survey with a capabilities statement showing a demonstrated understanding of and experience working with the following: 1) Unmanned Aircraft Systems. 2) FAA regulatory processes and the National Airspace System. 3) NASA, Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and Civil Activities related to UAS. 4) International Activities related to UAS. 5) Aerospace Technologies Related to UAS. 6) Manufacture and development of resources in the production of aerospace systems and aircraft. Additionally, interested vendors must complete and submit the attached Business Declaration form. The UAS Program Office will review responses to this market survey and determine whether respondents' demonstrated knowledge and experience are sufficient to meet this requirement. The FAA will not pay for any information received or costs associated with responding to this announcement. Therefore, any costs associated with this market survey submission will be solely at the interested vendors' expense. Any proprietary information should be marked. The responses to this market survey will be used for informational purposes only. This announcement is not a Screening Information Request (SIR) or a Request for Proposal (RFP) of any kind. The FAA is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. Submitted documentation must not exceed 8 pages in length (excluding the Business Declaration) on single sided 8 ?? by 11-inch paper. Responses must be received no later than 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on June 12, 2006. Sending responses via email to ryan.m.king@faa.gov is acceptable, however the Business Declaration form provided must be signed (either in PDF or Word format).
