- Habitat Barge The purpose of this sources sought notice is find sources that can provide a habitat barge in accordance with the specification listed below. Consequently, the US Army Corps of Engineers is conducting market research to gather information on vendors capab le to provide a habitat barge. This is not a Request for Proposal, a Request for Quotation, an Invitation for Bids, a solicitation, or any indication that the Corps of Engineers will contract for the concept contained herein. The Government does not inte nd to award a contract based solely on the submission of this request nor does it intend to pay for any costs incurred as a result of this announcement. Offerors having the skills, experience and capabilities necessary to perform the stated requirement ar e invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey/sources sought. Contractor shall furnish all facilities, labor, materials, tools, and equipment to provide a habitat barge. The barge is specifications are as follows: length 30 3 ?, width 8-7 ? , power source-120 horsepower (Dual 60 hp) Dual engines w/ hydrauli c steering for optimal maneuverability, fuel capacity- 108 gallons (Dual 54 gal), max people and weight- 6 & 8000 lb load/gear, Front Utility Tilt Bed w/ 8000 lb hydraulic capacity (7' - 9in W x 14' - 9in L that raises to 45? incline), 4700 lb electric win ch w/ remote operation, 4.0 onboard generator w/ remote start housed in an aluminum storage box, water tight A/C power w/ breaker box , 4 dual receptacles , and 1 G.F.I. receptacle, dual cranking batteries and 4 system batteries all w/ onboard charging sys tem. All housed in an aluminum storage box, large capacity aluminum storage box for stowage of tools and equipment, stand up helm w/ tach , volt and trim gauges and w/ depth finder, and Port and Starboard entries, with forward entry to Utility bed. The b arge pontoons are heavy duty 3/16in all welded, all aluminum, rear deck is 8in aluminum c-channels @ 16in o.c. w/ 3/16in aluminum tread plate decking, front deck is double stacked 4in structural aluminum c-channels @ 16in o.c. w/ 3/16in aluminum tread plat e decking, deck edges are aluminum extrusion w/ 6in heavy duty H.D.P.E dock edge, and rails are all aluminum 1 1/2in square tubing w/ welded aluminum skins. Interested businesses are invited to submit qualification statements addressing whether they can provide the barge as outlined. A potential bidders qualification statement should not exceed 3 pages, minimum 10 pitch font. Potential bidders are asked to specify points of contact, company information including background/experience. This announcement constitutes a sources sought/market research synopsis and will close on June 19, 2006. Responses to this sources sought notice must be submitted by 3:00 PM Central Time on Monday, June 19, 2006 to Mr. Thaddeus Willoughby.
