Description

Pacific Crest Trail Restoration - The purpose of this solicitation is to restore (reconstruction of) two specific sections of the Pacific Crest Trail used by hikers/equestrians on the Mt. Hood National Forest, Clackamas County, Oregon. Item 1 is from Lemiti Meadow to Jude Lake, approximately 5.4 miles, accessed from Forest Road 4220 near Olallie Lake. Legal Description: T8S. R8E, Section PB44. Item 2 is from Jude Lake to Olallie Lake, approximately 3.4 miles, accessed from Forest Road 4220 near Olallie Lake. Legal Description: T8S. R8E, Section 2. Restoration work includes reconstructing the trailbed, removing slough and berms, outsloping entire trailbed, reshaping and refinishing backslopes, removing protruding rocks and roots, filling ruts and troughs, acquisition, hauling placing and compacting of fill material, construction of drain dips, ditch and other drainage structures, cutting back logs, stumps and encroaching brush, and refinishing the entire trail tread surface. Blasting may be necessary. Work on Item No. 1 also includes construction of a log stringer bridge and a shallow stream ford. Trail will remain open during restoration. A high standard of workmanship is required as is adherence to project specifications. The contracting specialist assigned is Lois Tate, 503-668-1768, ltate@fs.fed.us . The NAICS Code is 237990. This project is estimated be range between $100,000 and $250,000. Registration in the Central Contractor Registration is required www.ccr.gov .
