Description
TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE: The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) intends to make a single award to a responsible small business entity for laboratory aide services for the Salt Lake Technical Center (SLTC) located in Sandy, Utah. The purpose of this acquisition is to provide support to SLTC analytical laboratory operations as needed. Functions change based on factors such as the number of samples, type of samples submitted (e.g., new special emphasis programs, disaster assistance, etc.) and demand for new methods development (responding to regulations), etc. The laboratory aide will function primarily in the area of analytical glassware preparation and maintenance but must have knowledge of other aspects of laboratory operations and be able to provide different types of assistance as needed. Examples of responsibilities may include: Maintain laboratory glassware by cleaning, decontaminating, sterilizing, stocking. Maintaining inventories of glassware and initiate ordering replacement supplies as needed. It is anticipated that a single Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity type contract will result from this solicitation, to include firm-fixed price. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 561990. The contract performance period is anticipated to consist of a base year from effective date of award (EDOA) through 12 months from EDOA, with four, 12-month option years for renewal at the unilateral discretion of the Government. The estimated minimum for the base year is as follows: 37 hour per week. The estimated minimum for Option Years #1-4 are the same as those stated above for the base year. The solicitation will be made available on or about June 9, 2006, and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information regarding this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition.
