- Description
- Work shall include providing (1) investigative work, (2) contract bid documents, (3) construction specs & drawing, site visits & cost estimates to design an Electrical Power Distribution System, including the Essential Electrical Systems, all related electrical system coordination/short circuit studies, and related Architectural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Fire Protection, and Signal Systems for the VAMC Atlanta. The intent of this project is to correct existing deficiencies and to upgrade the existing obsolete electrical equipment with new. In addition, this project will upgrade the electrical system throughout the facility to meet current code guidelines and to provide a more energy efficient distribution system. Government shall provide final direction on all design work, including areas of work, phasing, sequencing, etc. New and demolition work may include primary as well as secondary electrical systems. The A/E must include in the construction contract documents, clear and concise instructions for commissioning and testing of the new Electrical Power Distribution System including the Essential Electrical System. Testing and commissioning to be executed when the new system has been constructed. Design shall meet all federal, state, & local requirements. Drawings will be CADD generated with the latest readable AutoCad Release. Specifications shall be compiled from VA master specifications and are available on the internet at http://www.va.gov/facmgt/standard/. NAICS codes: 541310/541330. Announcement is for A-E services, ONLY. A-E firms meeting requirements are required to submit 2 copies of: (1) SF 330, Architect-Engineer Qualifications, Parts I, II, and any requested supplemental data to the Contracting Officer NLT 3:PM (EST), 7/11/06. SF (Standard Form) 330 can be obtained at the following website: http://www.gsa.gov/Portal/gsa/ep/formslibrary.do?formType=SF. Selection criteria incl 1) professional qualifications 2) specialized experience & technical competence of A-E firm w/similar type projects; 3) past performance on contracts with VA, other Government agencies, & hospitals; 4) geographical location of A-E firm; 5) experience & roles of key design personnel, specifically on related projects; 6) cost control & estimating effectiveness; 7) CAD capability; & 8) professional capacity of the firm to accomplish proposed work within scheduled timeframes.
