Description
On or about 20 June 2006, this office will issue Invitation for Bids for the construction of Gantry Crane, Cherry Creek Dam, Denver, CO. Bids will be opened on or about 20 July 2006. This solicitation is unrestricted and open to both large and smal l business participation Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact Mr. Daniel Johnson, 9307 South Wadsworth Blvd. Littleton, CO 80128. The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) Provide a 5 ton rated overhead monorail, mounted to a gantry type frame running on a track system installed to the existing deck. The gantry shall be equipped with track trucks with one truck set being electrically powered and controlled from the common p endent pushbutton station connected to a junction box mounted on one leg of the crane. Controls shall originate from a festooned cable system running parallel to the monorail track. All components of the crane system shall comply with MMA MH27.1, Class C (Moderate Service). The crane shall operate in an outdoor environment having an ambient temperature range of -10 to 115 degrees F. The Crane and design shall be the product of a manufacturer that has been designing and fabricating this size (or larger) type of crane for at least 5 years. The Crane and all it's components including the attached monorail hoist shall be a product manufa ctured domestically in the United States. The crane, rail system, and bulkhead dogging devices shall be delivered to the El.5566 intake deck of the Cherry Creek Outlet Works. The systems shall be either assembled prior to delivery on shore or shall be delivered to the deck and then assembled and installed. Deliveries to the deck will require either a large crane capable of lifting items to the deck from shore or an industrial lift helicopter. Crane delivery to this location has never been used by the Government and shall require investigation by the Contractor. Contractor shall submit a complete Product Delivery Plan to describe the methods to be used. The Contractor will be allowed to install jib cranes or other lifting devices to the wall of the Intake structure with concrete anchors. Includ e this if used, in the Product Delivery Plan. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 90 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work i n the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.
