Description

THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. NO FORMAL RFQ WILL BE AVAILABLE. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Water Resources Division, Hydrological Instrumentation Facility (HIF) located in Stennis Space Center, Mississippi has a requirement for acoustic instrumentation for the measurement of stream flow. The Hydrological Instrumentation Facility is responsible for testing, evaluating, and warehousing numerous types of instrumentation and equipment. The equipment is sold and rented to district and field sites all over the nation to support their field data collection activities. The HIF also sells and rents similar products which are manufactured by other vendors. The HIF's customers largely determine the types and brands of equipment stocked by the HIF. The USGS anticipates award, on a sole source basis, to Teledyne R D Instruments, based on their unique qualifications on 6/12/2006, under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold. The NAICS code is 334513. A determination not to continue with this acquisition based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government; information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition.
