- Description
- The United States Marine Corps Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV) Embedded Training (ET) simulation capability is currently being developed to provide realistic simulation of operational mission scenarios, own-vehicle performance, mission rehearsal, and associated entities in a network architecture to support full-crew training. NEED: The United States Marines Corps EFV program is defining requirements for its ET Capability. Marine Corps units are in special need of high quality training devices sufficient for maintaining operational skills of embarked crews. The purpose of this Request For Information (RFI) is to gather information to assist the Marine Corps in providing the capability to rapidly generate visual and correlated compact terrain databases. The databases required for training shall be developed from Geo-Specific Open Formats and may include all areas of EFV operation, such as littoral areas and Military Operations on Urbanized Terrain (MOUT). OBJECTIVE: To identify rapid generation (48 to 72 hours) database software tools that are capable of outputting OpenFlight and Compact Terrain data bases. The rapid generation of cultural features and terrain elevation shall be developed from common Geographic Information Systems (GIS) formats and other intelligence sources. All vendors with an appropriate product relating to the objectives are invited to submit a Capability Statement. Capability Statements should discuss the products capabilities against potential requirements, the products system requirements, and any other relevant information that would enhance the Government?s understanding of the information submitted. This request for information in no way implies either implicitly or explicitly that respondents will be compensated in any way by the US Government for information or materials provided. It does not constitute a solicitation and should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the US Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. All information provided becomes USMC property and will not be returned. All proprietary or classified information will be treated appropriately. NO PHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED
