- The FAA Academy will sponsor the fourth International Aviation Training Symposium (IATS), from July 17, 2006 to July 20, 2006. The FAA Academy has a requirement for logistical and administrative support for the approximately 30 high-level Safe Skies for Africa (SSFA) delegates who will attend IATS. The services include initial planning and coordination, arranging for meeting space and all related requirements for the one-day meeting and other official meetings between the delegates and Department of State officials, itinerary coordination with FAA and DOT for the delegates, interpretation services including necessary equipment for the one day meeting as well as the entire symposium, air travel for staff personnel and interpreters, ground transportation for delegates, lodging, crisis management, delegate guide book development and printing, final report including meeting minutes, proceedings, action items and important issues raised, and various other administrative and logistical requirements. The FAA intends to negotiate with only one source, Koeppen, Elliott & Associates, Washington DC 20006, in accordance with AMS policy 3.2.2.4. The FAA Academy conducted market research in May 2006 and the results of this survey support our determination to solicit and negotiate with only one firm.
