Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT FOR: Upgrade and repairs to the folowing encoders: Enerdyne, ENC1000A94 Encoder, Serial# 0867; Enerdyne, ENC1000A94 Encoder, Serial# 0896; The contractor shall test units S/N 0867 and 0896 prior to repair to confirm the failures identified by customer. Enerdyne will perform Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) after all repairs in accordance with Enerdyne?s Test Procedures and will be performed the same ATP after the upgrade is complete on the encoders as stated in the following procedures; (1) Remove top cover screws and inspect unit for Mux upgrade if not installed. The Mux upgrade and firmware will be installed; (2) The board stack will be removed from the base per the removal procedure; (3) Remove and replace 2 IC EPROMs on the Mux board and on the CPU board; (4) Re-install the board stack to the base and re-install top cover with all of the original screw; (5) ATP unit after the upgrade is complete; (6) Power-on the unit for 24-hour and retested in accordance with Enerdyne?s Test Procedures; Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the above requirements. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination of the Air Force not to open the requirement to competition, based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Air Force. If the office has not received any affirmative written responses by the Close of Business(COB), 21 June 2006, A Sole Source purchase order will be placed with Enerdyne Technologies, Inc.; 1935 Cordell Ct; El Cajon, CA 92020-0911.
