Description
The purpose of this edit to FAA ADS-B announcement of June 7, 2006 is to correct the E-mail address shown for Ms. Amy Durik. The E-mail address is changed from: Amy CTR Durik/AWA/CNTR/FAA to: Amy.CTR.Durik@faa.gov ____________________________________________________________________________ On April 6, 2006, the FAA posted a public announcement advising industry that the FAA intends to develop a NAS wide acquisition program for Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B), Traffic Information Service - Broadcast (TIS-B), and Flight Information Service - Broadcast (FIS-B) services with a goal of an "in-service" decision by 2010. A second announcement was posted on May 16, 2006. This announcement requested Patent information and stated that an industry day was planned after approval of the program by the FAA Joint Resources Council. The FAA JRC approved the NAS wide program today, June 7, 2006. Accordingly, an Industry Day is planned for June 19, 2006 where the overall program will be discussed. In addition, it is planned to conduct individualized discussions with vendors starting June 20, 2006. All interested vendors are invited to participate irrespective of prior responses to FAA ADS-B announcements. The event will be held at FAA Headquarters in the Bessie Coleman Conference Room located on the second floor. The planned starting time is 8:30 A.M. The address is: 800 Independence Avenue S.W. Washington, D.C. 20591 Vendors planning to participate in Industry Day activities should make reservations with: Ms Amy Durik Communications Lead 202-385-8394 Desk E-Mail: Amy.CTR.Durik@faa.gov Individual vendor discussions may be scheduled with Ms. Durik on a 1 ?? hour basis starting at 8:30 A.M June 20th. FAA is considering allowing vendors to speak on June 19 with the understanding that FAA is not endorsing or sponsoring any vendor. Since this stage of the acquisition represents an exchange of information and not a down-select process, a vendor's choice whether to request a presentation and/or to hold an individual discussion will have no bearing on eligibility to submit a proposal and will have no impact on future evaluation determinations. Vendors interested in providing not to exceed 20 minute presentations should contact Ms. Durik. Depending on the number of responses, the FAA retains the option to select a subset of vendors for presentations, to limit presentation times, or chose to have no vendor presentations. Vendors should indicate to Ms. Durik any equipment needs to support presentations. The FAA has received significant vendor input regarding the structure of the program. FAA will continue to encourage the maximum exchange of information. The May 16, 2006 public announcement also requested patent information which would be published to foster industry communications and potential teaming arrangements. The FAA has not researched the information received and does not substantiate that the information provided is accurate or complete. The following patent responses were received: ADSI, Inc. 1. U.
