- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey, Geography Discipline, Denver, Colorado has a requirement for Maintenance, support and updates for BAE Systems Mission Solutions SOCET SET software. SOCET SET software tools developed by BAE SYSTEMS Mission Solutions are proprietary to and copyrighted by BAE SYSTEMS Mission Solutions. To the best of our knowledge, there are other companies that have access to the source code to these software tools that would allow another company to enhance the software, provide bug fixes, and provide detailed technical support for BAE SYSTEMS Mission Solutions SOCET SET software tools. Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), implemented by FAR 5.302-1, the Government considers the item specified as a sole source from BAE SYSTEMS Mission Solutions, INC. 11487 Sunset Hills Road, Reston, VA 20190-5234 and proposes to negotiate a contract with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required services and supplies are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. No solicitation document exists, THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE. Affirmative response shall be received by this office by close of business June 21, 2006 by 3:00 PM Mountain Standard Time. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
