- SMALL BUSINESS SOURCES SOUGHT. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. The Northern Region Contracting Center (NRCC) is seeking information on sources that can provide research and development of a methodology to determine the accuracy of autom atically generated foreign language translations based on the statistical approach to language translation. Language Weaver has released for commercial use statistical-based translation software to include bidirectional translation with English to and fr om five languages. The Army Intelligence Center at Fort Huachuca, AZ requires modificaton of Language Weaver Translation Software to incorporate a confidence indicator that will enable the translation system to communicate to the user how confident it i s of its own translations. This feature assists users in making judgments on where to spend time in revision, and when to seek confirmation from human language experts for two pairs: Arabic-English and Korean-English. For the purpose of small businesses, the NAICS Code is 541511, Custom Computer Programming Services. Your response shall include the following information: size of company (i.e., 8(a), Hubzone, WOSB, SB, Veteran, all others), number of employees, relevant past performance on same/similar wo rk dating back three years, and your companys capability to do this type of work. Documentation of technical expertise must be presented in sufficient detail for the Government to determine that your company possesses the necessary functional area exper tise and experience to compete for this acquisition.
