Description: The U.S. Army Aviation Mission Planning System (AMPS) Portable Computing Unit (PCU) is a mission planning and battlefield synchronization tool that automates aviation mission planning tasks and generates critical mission data for use by aircrews in s upport of combat operations in the field under a variety of harsh environmental conditions. It provides Aviation units a vital interface to the Army Battle Command System. This acquisition is for an initial requirement of 495 each TSC-750M915 PCUs, 996 e ach back-up Removable 100GB Hard Drives, and 501 each TSC-750M 915 AMPS PCU Retrofits of currently fielded TSC-750M PCUs. In addition, an option requirement for an additional 16 each AMPS PCUs, 693 each Retrofits of currently fielded TSC-750M PCUs, 693 Ba ck-up Removable Hard Drives, and a Five-year Warranty. This acquisition is issued as a sole source requirement to VT Miltope, 3800 Richardson Road South, Hope Hull, AL 36043, Cage Code: 54418. Sole source is justified because VT Miltope is the sole des igner and manufacturer of the TSC-750M AMPS PCU. The design of the PCU includes information and data that is proprietary to VT Miltope. The Government does not possess the technical data required by other contractors, or the Government, to manufacture th e AMPS PCU. This acquisition will utilize FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. Delivery is required by August 2006. Contract award is anticipated by 30 June 2006. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Agency.
