- Description
- NAICS Code: 541519 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of the Inspector General (OIG) in Washington, DC, intends to award a sole source Purchase Order (PO) to Internet Security Systems, Inc. (ISS) of Atlanta, GA under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The purpose of this PO is to obtain one-year maintenance and support services licenses for the OIG's RealSecure Sensor for Windows 2003, 13 one-year Maintenance and Support Services for OIG's Proventia G2000, Maintenance and Support Service for OIG's 1 Proventia G2000F for one-year, and Maintenance for OIG's Dual Fiber Bypass Unit for one-year. The period of performance for the coverage shall be May 30, 2006 until May 29, 2007. The North American Industry Classification System Code for this requirement is 541519. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTATION (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. The nature of OIG's business processes and the sensitivity of its data require OIG to use secure virtual private network (VPN) architecture. That Office must have the ability to preemptively protect its information and to avoid violations of the Privacy Act and virus, worm and data corruption intrusions by sources outside of the EPA backbone into its General Enterprise Resource (TIGER) system. EPA already owns the RealSecure and Proventia software licenses. EPA has determined that since ISS is the sole owner of the RealSecure and Proventia Enterprise Security Platform software licenses, it is the only source for the Agency's requirement for the maintenance and support services. If any firm believes that it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement as stated herein, it may submit a capabilities statement, no-later-than 3 p.m. on June 14, 2006, to Carlen Pinskey, Contracting Officer, in writing. All questions and responses to this posting must be in writing. The Government's determination not to compete this requirement is within its discretionary authority. Please direct all questions to pinskey.lin@epa.gov
