Description
To all firms recognized as Service Disabled Veterans by the Small Business Administration: The Corp of Engineers, St. Paul District is putting out this request for information to inquire whether there are Service Disabled Veteran firms capable of performing the work described in this Statement of Work. Statement of Work for Gusset Plates, Filler Plates, and Diagonal Tension Members at Lock 2 (Hastings, Minnesota): Principle requirements are to provide all plant labor and material to fabricate and deliver gusset plates, filler plates and diagonal tension members for the 27 foot and 30 foot miter gates at Lock 2 in Hastings, Minnesota. The diagonal tension members co nsist of 1 - ? inch thick plate approximately 23' - 6 inches long with a double eye connection on one end. The other end of the diagonal will be welded to the forged and machined end of a 4-1/2 inches diameter threaded rod, 4 feet long. There will be fou r types of tension bars of slightly different dimensions. The total number of tension bars is 24. Various machined nuts and pins will also be required. 24 gusset plate connections will also be provided. The gussets will mainly consist of 3/4 inch thick carbon steel plate. The largest gusset is approximately 4'-6 inch by 4'-8 inch. Stiffener plates and fill plates of various thicknesses up to two inches shall also be provided. Surface finish shall be one shop coat of zinc rich primer. Types of machin e work included in this contract are: milling, cutting, thread cutting, forging, and welding. All welding shall conform to AWS D1.1 or D1.5 as applicable. Materials may include ASTM A709, ASTM A572, ASTM A276 (316 Stainless). Bolts and connections will be specified to conform to the following: A325, A490, ASTM F593 (316 Stainless), and/or ASTM F1554. Total weight of fabricated steel components is approximately 50,000 lbs. Shop drawings shall be provided prior to fabrication by the Contractor for Governm ent approval. The relevant North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 332312 with a Small Business size standard of 500 employees. Work in terms of estimated price is between $200,000 and $400,000. Delivery Location: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Lock Two, 1350 Dam Road, Hastings Minnesota 55033 Assuming that a Notice to Proceed will be issued about 31 July 2006, the required delivery date will be 13 November 2006
