This treadmill will be used in conjunction with the Biodex Unweighing System in order to assist debilitated inmates in their recovery of optimal function. Biodex is the only company identified that can provide the required products because of the complexity of the orthopedics and oncology missions of FCC Butner. It is pertinent to have products that will assist physical therapy in the identification of normal gait patterns and assist in the recovery of normal functioning. The use of this equipment will reduce recovery time from debilitated states. This equipment will be utililized by approximately 7-8 therapists on a daily basis.
