Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Acquisition and installation of one (1) In Vivo Imaging System in support of research on the pathogenesis of, and host response to, infection with anthrax, plague, and other select and critical agents under study at USAMRIID. Essential characteristics that are required to perform in vivo imaging and tracking of microorganisms during the progression of an infection in relevant animal models of disease. An anesthesia chamber; an animal containment chamber taht is heat-controlled and adequate in size (43 x 38 x 43 cm - minimum); adequate optics and laser alignment capability. Software provided must provide accurate standardization of photons. The unit must have an anesthesia chamber allowing for delivery of anesthesia both before and during imaging, a heated sample state; a cryogenic refrigeration unit; multiple magnification settings; multiple spectral image filters; the ability to detect low fluorescent samples; the ability to both determin the quantity of photons detected and location of the photon source; and the ability to standardize measurements taken from differnet experiments so that they can be accurately compared to one another.
