- OWH establishes public/private partnerships to address critical women's health issues nationwide. These partnerships pair the central office with regional public and private health organizations, universities and colleges, faith and community-based organizations to increase the effectiveness of services delivered to all women in the United States. The Department of Health and Human Services, Office on Women?s Health (OWH) has a requirement for community-based Lupus Education Awareness Programs. The successful contractors shall be responsible for developing and implementing six Lupus educational seminars based on the national model. At this time, the Government does not feel there are at least two (2) Small Businesses capable of responding to this requirement. As a result, the impending solicitation will be subject to full and open competition. Small businesses that feel they are capable of responding to this requirement are encouraged to provide notice to the point of contact identified below before the close of this notice. Funding will be awarded to organizations with experience in educating the public, women of color, and women living with Lupus. For-profit and non-profit community-based organizations, national organizations, colleges/universities, clinics/hospitals, state/local government agencies, tribal government/urban Indian entities and faith-based organizations are eligible to apply. PLEASE BE ADVISED THIS IS NOT A GRANT. This requirement is being solicited and awarded under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 813212, Voluntary Health Organizations, and the size standard is $6 million. The award will be a contract (i.e.: purchase order). The Government anticipates making multiple awards from the resulting solicitation not to exceed six (6) awards. The period of performance shall be for a 12 month period effective from date of award. In accordance with FAR Subpart 5.102(a)(1) the solicitation will be made available electronically on or about 15 days from the date of this publication. The internet address for downloading the solicitation is http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Any notification of changes to the solicitation (amendments) will be posted on the internet. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the site to assure they have the most current information regarding this acquisition. The anticipated release date for the solicitation is June 30, 2006.
