Description

The proposed procurement consists of the following work components: demolition, concrete removal, hydraulic operating system removal (piping, cylinders, controls, etc.), cast-in-place concrete work, installation of new hydraulic operating system (pi ping, cylinders, controls, etc.) for the upper lift gates, miscellaneous mechanical and electrical work including programming and installation of programmable logic controller (PLC) system, and work on the sheaves, cables, bubbler system, service gate slot , and mooring bits. The Major Rehabilitation and Major Maintenance, Stage I Lock no. 19 acquisition provides for a base bid with several options. This procurement is issued unrestricted under the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program (Public Law 100-656). The contract award will be made using competitive proposal negotiation procedures for achieving the Best Value to the Government thr ough the Source Selection (Tradeoff) Process, and will be made to the offeror whose Proposal meets the Governments needs in the most effective, economical, and timely manner. This source selection will be conducted in accordance with procedures prescribe d in FAR Part 15. Plans and Specifications will be available on or about 29 June 2006. A site visit is scheduled for 20 July 2006 at the proposed Construction Site, Lock and Dam 19 at 10:00 a.m. CST. The estimated magnitude of this requirement in terms of physical characteristics and estimated price is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.
