- This is synopsis is for a Firm Fix Price ?C? type contract with four quantity options for an Aircraft Maintenance Fixture applicable to the Poss Gun System of the A10 Aircraft (includes 1 First Article). Basic will require one First Article (FA) to become part of the production quantity. Options I-IV are for quantities of 1 to 2 EA. Item 0001AA: First Article requirement: NSN: 4920-00-536-9024; NOUN: Fixture, Aircraft Maintenance; P/N: 189F746; QUANTITY: 1 each; MATERIAL: Stainless Steel, precision manufactured for calibration; FUNCTION: Used after sudden stoppage of the system or during periodic maintenance of the transfer/turnaround units to check gear/sprocket timing relationships and mounting surface. DELIVERY: FA testing plan 30 days, FA Test Report 220 days after receipt of order. FA will be delivered 30 days after approval of the Test Report. First Article required for contractors who have not provided production quantities of the same item within the last 60 months. The approximate RFP issued date will be 5 July 2006 with the approximate response date of 5 August 2005. RFP will be available at www.fedbizopps.gov only. No telephone requests. Only written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor will be acceptable. This procurement will use the Performance Information Retrieval System-Statistical Reporting (PPIRS-SR) In Past Performance Evaluation Program in the evaluation of past performance. All responsible sources solicited may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered. Notes 26 and following local note F apply: This acquisition may/does involve technology that has a military or space application. The only US contractors who may participate are those that are certified and registered with DLSC (1-800-352-3572) and have a legitimate business purpose. US contractors must submit a copy of their current, approved DD Form 2345 with their request for solicitation. To request this certification, write to the Commander, Defense Logistics Services Center, ATTN: DLSC-FEB, Federal Center, Battle Creek MI 49017-3084 and request a copy of Department of Defense Form 2345 or call DLSC at the above number. The solicitation/data package will be mailed to the data custodian identified in block 3 of the DD Form 2345. The extent of foreign participation has not yet been determined. MOU country sources must contact the Contracting Officer within 15 calendar days of the date of this synopsis notice to receive a copy of the solicitation at the time it is initially issued. Issuance of the RFP will not be delayed to review requests from MOU country sources received after 15 days or from non-MOU country sources. Nothing in this notice contradicts other restrictions, identified in the synopsis notice or solicitation, regarding eligible sources (e.g., if this is a small-business set-aside, foreign sources may not participate as potential prime contractors but could, if otherwise eligible, participate as subcontractors).
