The Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) will also brief on ?Characteristics of Small Boats Over The Next Ten Years?. The following technology areas will be the focus of the industry day: 1. Scanning and surveillance technologies that aid operators in cluttered or complex environments to determine whether a small boat poses a threat or intends to threaten a friendly vessel requiring the least number of operators and support personnel 2. Non-lethal engagement technologies to deter or neutralize potential small boat threats 3. Technologies able to defend against small and large groups of small boats attacking simultaneously. Resulting technologies may be integrated into new and existing Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) mission modules to enhance combat of the small boat threat. This industry day is open to all interested companies with the appropriate security clearances (the meeting will be held at the secret level).
