- Description
- MARKET SURVEY - BATTERY OPERATED DATALOGGER The United States Navy is currently conducting a market survey in order to elicit responses from different vendors in regards to a battery powered data logger. The data logger will be used to record approximately 50 operational data elements at one minute intervals for six months (approximately 400MB of data per manufacturer). Length/Width/Height requirements are approximately 9? by 12? by 6?, to allow it to be temporarily attached on top of an existing control panel. The datalogger unit must be capable of recording information and operating with no battery changes for approximately six months. The device should be easily adaptable to connect to a personal computer in order to retrieve the stored information and present it in a spreadsheet format. The data logger must be capable of attaching to the existing control panel?s EIA-STD-485 port connection. The datalogger unit must be able to be located 20? from the existing EIA-STD-485 port. The device will need to be tailored to the control panel?s unique data format (interface document available). The datalogger vendor must have a reasonable non-recurring development cost and unit cost. If needed a more detailed description of the requirements of the Navy can be provided. Interested US and foreign firms in being considered should submit, in writing, a description of how they can fulfill the Navy?s requirements, or how a product can be easily modified to meet these requirements, along with an estimated price and availability. This announcement is a request for information only and is not a request for proposal or announcement of solicitation. Firms which fail to respond will not be placed on the bidding list for possible future solicitation. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this synopsis nor return any of the data provided. All responding firms will be contacted and may be requested to exchange information with Navy personnel. Replies should be sent to Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, 5001 S.
