Description
The work involves logging out the trail travel way of downed or leaning trees, removing loose rocks and woody debris that have entered the trailway since the last maintenance, and cleaning to original design all existing drainage facilities. No brushing or blasting is required. ATV trail drainage structures will require considerably more work than non-ATV structures. Government estimates of time are 15-30 minutes per ATV drainage structure (15 on the narrower Chain of Lakes structures and 30 on the Taylor/Jew Mtn/Drop Creek structures). There are approximately 50 structures per mile. These estimates are made either using a combination of machinery and hand finish work (50? maximum width on TR# 39 & 313 ? Chain of Lakes & Bitterroot-Rock Divide, and 64? maximum width on TR# 182, 185 & 248 ? Taylor Creek, Jew Mtn & Drop Creek) or by hand and tool work.
