Description
WORK TO BE DONE: Delivery of 1500 tons rock for the installation of a lagoon at the Iowa Tribal Complex located in the SW/4 of Sec 19, T 17N, R3E, approximately 4 miles south on Highway 177 from the intersection of Highways 33 and 177, and 1/2 mile west on county road. Specifications follow; SECTION 02374 RIP-RAP PART 1 - GENERAL 1.01 SUMMARY A. Section Includes 1. Rip-rap for lagoon 1.02 RELATED WORK A. Section 02315 ? Excavation, Trenching, and Backfill 1.03 SUBMITTALS A. Conform to the Section 01330 ? Submittal Procedure 1.04 PROJECT SITE CONDITIONS A. Verify the nature and location of the work as to general and local conditions. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.01 Rip-rap A. Durable field or quarry stone that is sound, hard, and free from structural defects. B. Resistant to abrasion and frost action. C. Shape: generally round. D. Pieces with a length to width ratio greater than 3:1 shall not exceed 10% of total volume. E. Sandstone, shale, broken concrete, or slate not allowed. F. Size distribution Size (in) % Passing 6in 100% 4in 60-85% 3in 20-50% 2in 2-20% #4 Sieve 0-5% PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 RIP-RAP 1. Loads shall be delivered on a frequency determined by the project engineer. Approximately 500 tons shall be delivered initially and thereafter as notified. 2. Riprap material shall be delivered to a stockpile area immediately adjacent to the job site as specified by the project engineer. 3. Payment shall be made for each load on a per/ton basis as delivered to the job site. END OF SECTION Bids must be in by COB July 5, 2006.
