Description

Notice of intent to award as a sole source by the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection a requirement to Thermo Electron Corporation, Scientific Instruments Corp, 5225 Verona Rd., Madison, WI 53711 for Nicolet 4700 FT-IR Spectrometer utilizing the General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule Contracts. The system is not entirely available on the GSA contract, components within the system are considered to be open market sole source over $25,000.00. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, all proposals received by the closing date and time will be considered for future requirements. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 6.203. Any vendor who believes that they can provide the open market components and can provide proof that they are capable of supplying the necessary components required for the Nicolet 4700 FT_IR Spectrometer should e-mail their company?s capabilities and information to the attention of Sonja Robinson by 12:00 PM (noon) EST, Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at Sonja.Robinson@dhs.gov. Only e-mail responses will be accepted, no phone calls will be accepted. The award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
