- Description
- The purpose of the project is to have the contractor furnish all labor, equipment, fuel, oil, transportation and supplies to perform vegetation treatment work on the Seward Ranger District of the Chugach National Forest. Vegetation treatment work will take place in the Juneau South Wildlife Habitat Improvement project area. The project area is located on the Kenai Peninsula, approximately three located about three miles northwest of Cooper Landing. The work to be done consists of cutting live and dead spruce on 119 acres within and 100 feet adjacent to existing aspen stands (see unit map), machine and/or hand piling of treated materials. The bidder is strongly encouraged to inspect the project work area and are encouraged to make their own estimates of amount of vegetation to be treated. The government has provided estimates of treatment area acreage. It will be assumed that the bidder is satisfied as to the nature of the work to be performed and the character of all conditions to be encountered.. The project area is located near Cooper Landing, on the Chugach National Forest: T. 5 N., R. 4 W., Section 23, N ?; T. 5 N., R. 4 W., Section 24, W ? & T. 5 N., R. 4 W., Section 13, SW ?. The Juneau South Wildlife Habitat Improvement project is located approximately three miles north on Juneau Creek Road. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to determine the most suitable route to the project area. The government will not provide special maintenance, grading to open roads or keep roads open. The estimated price range for this acquisition is less than $100,000. The performance period is 20 Sep 06 ? 31 Mar 07. Award of this project to be accomplished under Full and Open Competition, pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The solicitation and drawings will be available for downloading at http://www.fedbizopps.gov on approximately 6 July 06, the solicitation issue date. Offers will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date.
