- Description: This is a notice of intent to issue a purchase order to Federal Signal Corporation, 2645 Federal Signal Dr., University Park , IL 604666-3195, on a sole source basis. The authoity cited is Section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996, Test Program for Commercial Items as implemented by FAR 13.501(a)(ii). The proposed procurement is for a Mass Notification System (MNS). A complete and operational (turnkey) system capable of providing real time information via prerecorded messages, sir en/tone alerts, and live voice transmissions to personnel outside of buildings during emergency situations. This requirement is for additional capability on Fort Hood in addition to existing equipment. The MNS shall provide cover to Fort Hood Cantonment, West Fort Hood, North Fort Hood and Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area. The supplier shall provide two (2) base station control units (BSCU). Each shall have the capability to initiate the broadcast of siren tones, prerecorded messages, or live message s at all of the speaker towers or any combination of towers designated as zones. This server platform will be tested and fully compliant with the Department of Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP), rigo rous security standards for the Department of the Defense (DoD) Information Infrastructure. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334290. Response date is 26 Jun 06 at 12:00 P.M.
