- The U.S. Geological Survey, Western Earthquake Hazards, Menlo Park, CA intends to make a sole source award to Quanterra, Inc, 325 Ayer Rd, Harvard, MA 01451 for the following portable digital seismograph with attachments. (3) Q330-6 seismographs; (3) complete connector kit; (5) PB14F Field Baler; (3) Bullet GPS antenna; (3) Qnet-qnet-80 cable; (2) Q330 to db24f console cable. The seismographs from Quanterra, Inc are compatible with the U.S.Geological Survey (USGS) current seismograph testing program; less than about 0.8 watt power consumption, low-noise, 24-bit resolution, storage of at least 20GB, and they are compatible with current playback software. Simplified Acquisition procedures will be used with an estimated award date of 7/10/2006. This is not a request for competitive quotes. Interested vendors may identify their interest and capability to respond within 10 days of this announcement. All responses must be in writing by facsimile to the Contracting Officer at (209)742-5089 or email amargrave@usgs.gov. A determination not to continue with this acquisition based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition.
