Description

This is a modification to a previously announced Request for Information (RFI) for information and planning purposes. The Department of the Interior (DOI) is performing market research on Knowledge Base (KB) software that can provide comprehensive and streamlined access to resources which support geospatial activities across all DOI bureaus. The previously announced Request for Information is modified as follows: Responses to this Request for Information will be evaluated by a third party that is outside of the Federal Government. This private sector individual will sign a non-disclosure statement prior to reviewing responses. In addition, an authorized representative of the reviewer's private sector firm shall sign a statement indicating their firm shall not participate in any competition that might result from this RFI. To notify the Government of sensitive information, data identified as Proprietary [e.g., 41 USC section 423, the Procurement Integrity Act restrictive legend per Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.215-1)] contained in a response to this RFI, offerors shall mark the cover page of the response and each affected page of the response with indications that it contains proprietary information. The Government assumes no liability for the disclosure or use of information contained in a response if it is not marked proprietary. Questions and all responses shall be submitted to the Contracting Officer, Melissa Gill, via e-mail to mgill@usgs.gov and for brochures that are not available electronically, mail to the attention of Melissa Gill at U. S. Geological Survey, 12201 Sunrise Valley Drive, MS 205, Reston, Virginia 20192. Responses are due no later than close of business on July 14, 2006.
