- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue an order under NAVAIR Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00421-05-G-0001 with Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation (NGSC), 600 Grumman Road West, Bethpage NY 11714, for development and testing of a Non-Cooperative Combat ID Capability (NCID) for the E-2 (E-2C/E-2D) aircraft. The objective of this effort is to integrate and test an electronically scanned prototype NCID system, consisting of a prototype Antenna Array and receiver/process hardware/software, for the detection and processing of airborne emissions leading to an NCID capability for E-2 (E-2C/E-2D) aircraft. NAVAIR intends to negotiate this order on a sole source basis with NGSC. This procurement represents a follow-on integration and test effort for the NCID system currently under development by NGSC. NGSC is the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the E-2 (E-2C/E-2D) Aircraft and Weapon System and as such is the only firm with the knowledge, and integration experience necessary to fulfill these requirements.
