- Ref PR Number 10171763. The Contracts Department at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD), Point Mugu, California, intends to procure, on an other than full and open competition basis, the following Ansoft Corporation product and service: 1 each, High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) Node Locked License; and 1 each HFSS maintenance support (includes upgrades and support for 1 year). The Ansoft software license and maintenance service will be used by the Weapon Systems Support Activity (WSSA) at Point Mugu to provide direct fleet support to the EA-6B avionics/weapons systems. Ansoft Corporation is the only manufacturer of the license and service that will meet the EA-6B requirements. The HFSS provides the capability to model and simulate the electro-magnetic behavior of antennas, transmission lines, and cavities. Specifically, the HFSS will quickly facilitate evaluation of design concepts being proposed in support of the Global War on Terrorism! (GWOT). In addition, the HFSS software tools will be directly used to speed up the design, concept and verification and rapid-response troubleshooting of problems encountered in standard Navy electronic warfare theater operations. Any firms believing they can provide the HFSS license and services may submit a written response to be received at the Contracting Office no later than 6/29/06. It must clearly show the firm's ability to be responsive without compromising the quality, accuracy or reliability of the data without causing programmatic hardship.
