Description

The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to negotiate with Teton Data Systems Inc, 125 Kings Street, Suite G1, Jackson, Wyoming 83001, on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, for software and subscriptions. Teton Data Systems is the sole provider of the STAT!Ref Electronic Resources for Healthcare Professionals. STAT!Ref uses a proprietary search and retrieval technology, Teton Server (tm), not found in any other medical library software. STAT!Ref allows the end user to search individual texts, subsets or the entire library using one search interface. Additionally, the software uses the proprietary SmartMatch algorithm to display ranked results. Teton Data Systems is the only electronic vendor with the rights to distribute its unique combination of resources contained in the STAT!Ref library. Firms who wish to identify their interest and capability to provide an alternate system which will meet the capabilities and functionality described above may notify the Contracting Officer, in writing, no later than 09:00 AM on Thursday, June 29th, 2006. Such notification must include a complete description of proposed software and subscriptions, including narrative and capabilities described above. Notification shall be mailed to Kathleen Policicchio, Contracting Officer, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, Pa 15206. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations. This notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals.
