- NAICS Code: 334111 The U.S. EPA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106-1 (b) with Sea-Bird Electronic for components and sensors for a CTD/Rosette System. This purpose of this procurement is to obtain components needed for the repair and updating of the CTD/Rosette system aboard EPA*s research vessel OSV Bold, and to provide the spare equipment needed to provide for field repair in the event that critical sensors fail during deployments. The vendor shall provide the equipment listed below: 1) SBE 9-plus Underwater unit including the following units: a) SBE ducted Temperature and Conductivity sensors b) Digiquartz pressure sensor (300Gm ran 4e) c) SBE 5T Submersible pump 2) SBE 32 Full Size Carousel Water Sampler with 12 OTE 100 12L sample bottles. 3) SBE 11 -plus V2 Deck Unit 4) SBE 9-11 plus horizontal cage mount 5) Seapoint CDOM fluorometer 5) Benthos PSA 916D altimeter 6) SBE 43 Dissolved Oxygen Sensor 7) Wetlabs WetStar Chlorophyll-a Fluorometer (0-75 ug/l range) 8) Biosperical QSP2300-L 4pi underwater PAR sensor 9) Biosperical Q5R2200 Deck Mounted Reference PAR sensor, equipped with 30 m cable 10) Seapoint Turbidity Meter The vendor shall provide all underwater cables, integration and mounting kits, and associated hardware needed to integrate the CTD/ Rosette system (excluding hydrowire and slip rings). Upon award, the EPA will ship its existing underwater unit and associated sensors to the vendor for repair, integration and calibration using the replacement components. The vendor shall complete the work within 45 days of receiving the EPA*s existing system. This notice is not a request for quotations. EPA source research indicates Sea-Bird Electronics , is the only known contractor with the appropriate level of technical knowledge necessary to complete this project. However, any firm believing itself capable of meeting this EPA requirement may submit technical documentation to established the potential of supplying such components. Any such documentation must be submitted within 15 days of electronic posting of this notice (before July 12, 2006 5:00 PM EST). A determination not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement or to proceed on a sole source basis. The applicable NAICS Code is 334519.
