Description

This is a request for information only as defined in FAR 15.201(e). The DoD is interested in innovative solutions and potential costs per unit for a tactical flow meter assembly which meets the needs of tactical operations today and into the future. The assembly will be used in a military tactical environment at fuel issue points and for custody transfer operations at fuel tank truck offloading facilities where large particulate contaminates are frequently found in the fuel. In most circumstances, fuel will pass through these meters via gravity feed or be pulled from several off-loading headers via a common pump that will be located downstream of the meter. The meter may be used in various hoseline and pipeline configurations. For example, one pump may support several headers joining a common receipt/issue line. For tank truck off-loading operations, there may be one pump for several meters placed in lines feeding tactical storage collapsible bags. Hoses/pipes may contain significant amounts of air at commencement/completion of truck off-loading operations. Please refer to the attached documents for detailed information on this request.
