- Description
- The purposes of this amendment are to extend the deadline for submission of quotations in response to this solicitation, amend the period of performance for CLIN 0001, and to provide answers to questions received from potential offerors. The due date and time for receipt of quotations in response to this RFQ is extended to July 7, 2006 at no later than 3:00:00 p.m. Eastern Time (they must be received at lisa.wells@nist.gov, with a courtesy copy to joseph.widdup@nist.gov no later than that date and time. The period of performance for CLIN 0001 shall be from date of purchase order acceptance through no later than February 28, 2007. The following are answers to questions submitted by potential offerors: Questions Q1) After reviewing the drawing package, there is no hydraulic schematic and hydraulic circuit as part of the package, is this an oversight? A1) Drawings were provided to potential offerors during site visit. Potential offerors that did not attend the site visit may request a copy of the drawings from frank.davis@nist.gov, with a courtesy copy to stephen.cauffman@nist.gov (this request must be submitted by June 30, 2006 at no later than 3:00:00 p.m. Q2) Specifications for the 12Mlb UTM upgrade calls for "Load measurement accuracy of plus or minus 1.0% of reading down to 1/250 of the maximum load capacity of the machine". Presumably the UTM already has a precise load measuring device, since it is currently used for calibrations. Does the specification mean display load readings with that accuracy, and if so what signals are available from your present load cell(s). A2) The 12 million pound UTM has an Emery cell which is used to measure the applied load. The Emery cell has an accuracy of +/- 1.0% down to 1/250 of the maximum capacity of the machine. There is a +/- 10 V signal that is available from the Emery cell. The intent of the specification is to read that signal and display load readings with an accuracy of +/- 10 V. Q3) Please send information on the accumulators you want to incorporate into the hydraulic system. A3) Parker Unit (Piston Accumulator, Model No. A7N369603KTF, Serial No. 407041-01, Capacity 3696CU.IN, Max Operating Pressure 3000 PSI) Q4) Please send information on the existing hydraulic pump (this may be on the schematic in 1. above). We require flow, pressure, motor horsepower or whatever information you can obtain. A4) 60 H.P., 900 RPM, Drip-Proof Q5) Please confirm the requirements for the data logging system. How many inputs, what type, what speed and so on. A5) Automatically recognize and calibrate transducers (load cells, strain gages, linear variable differential transducers, etc., system of units shall be user selectable (SI, US Customary), data sampling rate shall be at least 40 kHz with 500 Hz synchronous data logging on all channels, minimum of four zero-suppressed, scaled 10 V ouputs (via BNC connection); 25 pin D connector for recorder pulse drive; 4 logic line outputs and 4 logic line inputs to trigger internal and external events, and eight 16-bit resolution A/D conversion channels with a minimum of 50 kHz sampling on a single channel. All other terms and conditions of the solicitation remain unchanged and in full force and effect.
