Description
The Philadelphia District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) intends to initiate an Invitation for Bid (IFB) to acquire twenty, new, identical, welded-steel Dredge Pipeline Pontoons to be used to support the dredging mission of the Dredge JA DWIN of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District. Option items shall be included in the IFB. Each pontoon shall be approximately 48-feet long, 18-feet wide and 4-feet deep. The pontoons shall be furnished with turntable bearings, pipe saddles, straps, pipeline, walkway, baffle plate and control house, and baffle controls. The pontoons shall be designed, built and classed to American Bureau of Shipping rules for Steel Vessels on Rivers and Intracoastal Waterways. The contractor will be required to provide engineering and scheduling submittals within 120 calendar days after notice to proceed and not less than twenty (20) Pipeline Pontoons within 450 calendar days after notice to proceed with construction. Any options exercised will be so done with in 180 calendar days after the award of the contract. All option items will be delivered within the same 450 calendar period during which the base order is being fulfilled. All items will be delivered to the Vicksburg Engineering District, Vicksburg, Missi ssippi. This acquisition will be performed using the procurement process prescribed in Part 14 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. Liquidated damages are included in this contract and bonding is required. The IFB is intended to be issued on or about 14 July 2006. IFB W912BU-06-B-0017 will be available at the FedTeDS website, www.fedteds.gov, on or about 14 July 2006. Hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests will be accepted. Contractors shall download this IFB (including drawings) an d all amendments from the Internet Web Page at the following address https://www.fedteds.gov on or after the issue date of the IFB. The official media of distribution for the IFB is the FedTeDS website. All amendments to this IFB will be posted to the FedT eDS website at the above address. Hard copies will not be furnished. It is contractor responsibility to monitor the solicitation at http://www.fedbizopps.gov for notification and links to any amendments. Interested contractors must register on the Internet Web Page. If any of the contractor information changes during the advertisement period, contractors are responsible to make changes to their user profile at the FedTeDS website. Failure to make changes in their user profile may cause for delay in receivin g notification of the IFB and Amendments. Contractors are responsible for printing copies of the IFB and any amendments.
