- This notice is to announce a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers District, New Orleans requirement for a Marine Fire Inspection and Services contract for the Dredge Wheeler. The work to be performed under this contract will be on the Dredge Wheeler to prov ide transportation, facilities, equipment, supplies, materials, supervision, and labor required to inspect, pretest, test, troubleshoot, and service recharging cylinders, for the Dredge Wheelers and launch Wheelers firefighting systems and equipment. Th e contractor shall be a Kidde authorized service company with a minimum of three years experience in the inspection, testing, and servicing of marine firefighting systems and equipment. The Request for Proposal is for a firm-fixed price service contract t o be competed under solicitation W912P8-06-R-0173. The basic contract is estimated to commence on 01 August 2006 through 31 July 2007 with four one-year option performance periods. A site visit is highly recommended. The vessels home port is the U.S. Ar my Corps of Engineers New Orleans District Wharf. The successful contractor must have a shop located within 100 radius miles of the New Orleans District, capable of performing all required repairs to the firefighting system components. The Wheeler also p erforms dredging assignments throughout the Gulf Coast area. This action is set aside 100% for Small Business concerns under NAICS code 561621, size standard $11.5M. The RFP and all information pertaining to this acquisition will be made available electronically through the Federal Business Opportunities electronic posting system web link at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is and will continue to be all potential offerors responsibility to monitor the fedbiz website for any amendments, updates, bidders, library, responses to questions and answers as the government wi ll not be maintaining a mailing list. No phone call request will be accepted. The anticipated solicitation release date is on or about 30 J une 2006 with the due date 14 July 2006. NOTE: Offerors must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR), which is required by Federal Regulations (See FAR 52.204-7004). Therefore you must be CCR registered to be awarded this project and payment from any DOD activity.
