- Inpatient Pharmacy University Drive Division This project will improve the functions of the inpatient pharmacy, and correct JCAHO cited HVAC deficiencies related to the Chemo and IV preparation work areas along with replacing AHU-5 (located in AN123). AHU-5 is approximately 20+ years old and is need of replacement. The present HVAC System shall be replaced with a new system in compliance with requirements of the JCAHO endorsed, ?U. S. Pharmacopeia (USP) 797?, concerning Clean Rooms in Pharmacies. Construction will be addressed in phases to allow Pharmacy operations to continue during construction to the fullest extent possible. Work includes phased general construction/demolition, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, casework, utility systems, necessary removal of existing structures and construction and certain other items. This work includes but is not limited to architectural, mechanical and electrical modifications, for IV prep and correcting the M&R need for AHU replacement, in compliance with updated codes for the Inpatient Pharmacy at the University Drive Division of the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare. Construction cost per VAAR 836-204 is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. The applicable NAICE code is 238220 with small business size standard of $13,000,000. Specifications, Drawings, and forms for submitting a bid will be available on or about July 20th, 2006 at http://www.bos.oamm.va.gov or http://fedbizops.gov for downloading. Pre-bid conference is scheduled for Wednesday, July 26th, 2006 at 9:30 am at the VAMC Pittsburgh Healthcare System Facility Management Conference Room, University Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15240. ?NOTE: All offerors are encouraged to attend the Prebid Conference. Questions must be submitted to the Contracting Officer by email to kimberly.gillespie@med.va.gov or by fax to 412-365-5451 no later that July 25th, 2006, so they can be addressed at the prebid conference. Further questions will be accepted by the Contracting Officer by email or fax until close of business ten (10) calendar days after the Prebid Conference, August 7th, 2006; and responses will be provided to all bidders on the Bidder?s Mailing List. Questions received later than ten (10) calendar days after the Prebid Conference will not be addressed in the interest of adhering to the scheduled bid opening date.? Bid opening will be on or about August 21th, 2006 at 2:00 PM EST.
