Description
This is a request for information (RFI) only*. It is not a solicitation nor does it guarantee a solicitation will be issued. The 99th Contracting Squadron, Nellis AFB NV, is conducting market research for certified Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) companies to execute the USAF Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Battlab (UAVB) Small Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Battlefield Communications Relay Project. The objective of this project is to perform additional development on a Small UAS that is currently in production and supporting warfighter operations. This effort will neither develop a new Small UAS nor complete the development of a SUAS. The Battlefield Communications Relay project will have a total duration of one-year. The Small UAS technical requirements are: Threshold Objective a. Operating Altitude: 10,000 feet 15,000 feet b. Maximum Gross Vehicle Weight: <50 pounds Same as Threshold c. UAS dry weight: < 30 pounds Same as Threshold d. Payload Capacity: 5 pounds 10 pounds e. Flight Duration: 15 hours 20 hours f. Operating Radius: 75 kilometers 100 kilometers g. Unconventional takeoff and landing capability (no landing gear) h. Austere field operations capable i. Remotely piloted and autonomous operations capable j. Proven platform design (supporting the warfighter in current combat operations) k. Simultaneous mission payload capacity (EO or IR camera + the communications relay) l. Fixed and mobile ground control stations m. Remote viewing system for Small UAS video and telemetry n. Proven production capability Areas of interest for the project are: a. Battlefield Communications Relay b. Integration of UAS video and telemetry with ROVER III c. Multi UAS autonomous operations d. Integration of Iridium satellite communications e. STANAG 4586 Level 2/3 compliance If you feel you can provide the products and services listed, please provide a 5 - 10 page Capabilities Statement, addressing the items below, to Capt Miranda Williams at miranda.williams@nellis.af.mil NLT 1500 PST on 14 July 2006: What capabilities does your organization possess to successfully accomplish the requirements described in this RFI? Do you hold any contracts similar in work/scope to the services identified above? Can you provide those contract numbers and their values? Can you provide a point of contact name/number? Do you have a GSA schedule contract for the services identified above?
