Description
The U.S. Coast Guard is setting aside this acquisition for Total Small Business Set Aside concerns. The Coast Guard intends to conduct this procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The NAICS Code is 336611. The acquisition is for drydock repairs to the USCGC POMPANO (WPB 87339), an 87 foot patrol boat, at the contractor?s facility. The performance period will be 7 days with a start date on or about July 19 July, 2006. The homeport of the vessel is Gulfport MS. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about July 7, 2006 at http://www.fbo.gov/ and anticipate closing July 11, 2006. The scope of the acquisition is to provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform drydock repairs to the USCGC POMPANO (WPB-87339) a 87 FOOT PATROL BOAT including but not limited to the following Base and Option items: Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts, Perform Stern Tube/ Strut Alignment Inspection, Inspect Government Furnished Propeller Shaft, Perform Minor Repair and Reconditioning of Propeller(s), Routine Dry Docking, Inspect Water Lubricating Shaft Bearings, Renew Intermediate Bearing, Renew Aft Bearing, Provide Temporary Logistics, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propellers, Repair Shaft, Straighten Shaft, Provide Temporary Berthing. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a best value Request for Quotes (RFQ). Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings is available free of charge to contractors upon request not later than one (1) day from the solicitation issuance. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings.
